Stonehenge
Entry to the famous circle of stones at Stonehenge provides an audio tour that may shed some light as to the mystery of who, how and when the stone circle was built. Some of the stones used in the construction came from Wales, over 385km away and construction took place over a period of 1500 years, having started around 3000BC.
Bath
Bath grew up around its hot springs. The Romans established a settlement here, the remains of which you can still see today by visiting the Roman Baths. Built between the 1st and 4th Centuries the Baths then disappeared under rubble until the 1600's when the ruins were unearthed. During the 1700's Bath once again became a popular resort attracting the rich and famous. Surrounding the Roman Baths is the elegant 18th Century Pump Room, it is here that you can "take the waters". (purchase a glass of tepid water).
Nearby is Bath Abbey, take a few moments to look at the impressive stone facade. Visit the Royal Crescent and Circus, two elegant streets, note the blue plagues on the houses, these commemorate the famous residents that have live in Bath. No. 1 Royal Crescent has been restored to show you what life was like in the 1700's. The Assembly Rooms once used for grand balls now is home to a display of costumes from the 1500 to present day. You'll have time to enjoy the shopping, take a stroll along the River Avon or if the weather if good you can hire boats or take a River Cruise.

Bath Christmas Markets
In the heart of Bath’s main shopping district, in the shadow of Bath Abbey and next to the Roman Baths, 123 traditional wooden chalets adorn the streets. All of the retailers sell unique, handcrafted items, many of which are made in the local area and the South West, giving the event a very individual identity. There is something to suit every taste and every budget!
