Thursday 01 April:

We depart London at 18.30 for the journey down to Portsmouth. Our ferry departs at 23.45 . Travelling overnight we’ll arrive into Caen. On board the ferry there is a Cinema showing the latest blockbuster. Enjoy the onboard shopping and relax and enjoy a meal at the Café or self-service restaurant.

Friday 02 April: 

Our ferry arrives in Caen and we make our way to Honfleur. A beautiful old Normandy harbour town with lots of history and atmosphere, an ideal place to relax and stroll around the cobbled streets. We then head inland and we visit Bayeux famous for the Bayeux Tapestry. This embroidered cloth tells the story of the Battle of Hastings in 1066. Our final stop for the day is at the British cemetery on the outskirts of Bayeau It is the largest British cemetery of the Second World War in France, both Allied and German soldiers are buried here. Heading away mid afternoon we make our way to Caen and our hotel located near the city centre.

Saturday 03 April:
 

After breakfast we travel across to the famous Mont Saint Michel. 2008 was the Mont’s 1300th anniversary year (708-2008) Mont Saint Michel, a marvel of the western world, was founded 1300 years ago when Archangel Saint Michael appeared at the summit of the rocky islet pounded by the world’s strongest tides and called for a sanctuary to be built to the glory of God. The whole Mont is surrounded by sea with a tidal range of 15 metres, at low tide you can walk the one km to the Mont. The Abbey dominates the rock outcrop and is open to visitors. Group Entry €6.50. Moving on we cross from Normandy to Brittany and make our way to St Malo, a walled city. The city ramparts are largely original and offers superb views over the city and surround countryside. The Cathedral is noted for its medieval stained windows. Enjoy a meal out at a local restaurant renowned for their seafood. We head back to Caen and our hotel mid evening

Sunday 04 April:

After breakfast we start the day by visiting the D Day beaches. The Allied soldiers began landing on the beaches, code-named Utah, Omaha. Juno, Gold, and Sword. We visit the seaside resort of Arromanches-les-Bains. Here you can see the remains of one of the Mulberry Harbours and visit The D Day Museum which features maps, models, a cinema and photographs of the landings.

Mondy 05 April:

We depart our hotel and make our way to Rouen. Rouen, the ancient capital of Normandy, with its narrow, medieval streets lined with half-timbered houses. The memory of Joan of Arc lingers on in the Old Market Place. It was here that she was burned at the stake in 1431. Finally, it is on to Calais and our return ferry to England. We aim to be back in London no later than 22.30.

Includes:

  • Return coach travel and overnight ferry crossing to Normandy
  • Three nights based in hotel at Caen in twin or double rooms en-suite, with breakfast

 

Those travelling on their own will be allocated a twin room to share with another single traveller. Excursions as per itinerary but no entrance fees are included.

What To Bring:
Sleeping bag, pillow, overnight bag and a towel, You must travel with a valid passport. Some nationals may require a visa for this tour. Please check at time of booking.

Booking Conditions for Tracks Travel not Tracks Worldwide



All our trips* depart from Bressenden Place, which is a few minutes walk from Victoria Underground Station. All day trips depart at 9am unless otherwise stated and aim to return back to London for 7pm. The MegaDay tours depart at 08.00 and aims to be back for 8pm, as does the Cardiff day trip.

 

*Times and departure points for our Weekday Tours are still a few minutes walk from Victoria underground but they DO NOT depart from Bressenden Place at 9am. You will get directions in your email confirmation.

 

*Weekend departure times vary and it is your responsibility to check the departure time for your trip, which is published on our website. Tracks cannot be held responsible for missed departures due to late arrival.

Online Discounts:

These only apply to tours booked and paid for online, they are not available over the telephone or by any other means of payment. They are for a limited period and limited number of seats. The offer can be withdrawn at any time.

To take up the offer you must always write the discounted price on the booking form. Failure to do so will result in full payment being taken.

 

Double Booking Special:

Our double booking special offer will save you £2 on the price of your second day trip. To take advantage of the offer, you need only complete one booking form. In the comments box at the bottom of the page you need to provide details of the second day trip you wish to book. Discount only applies when ONE PERSON is travelling on TWO DIFFERENT departures, NOT to two people travelling on the same departure.

 

General Booking Conditions:

All Day Trips: Once booked and paid for are non refundable nor transferable under any circumstances.

Weekend and Short Breaks: 50% cancellation charges if cancelled before 14 days of travel, if cancelled less than 14 days 100% cancellation charges. Transfers on weekend tours can be made up to 14 days prior to departure, subject to availability. A transfer fee of £20 per person will be charged.

Tracks cannot refund or rebook you if you miss your tour or services as a result of delays on other transport services such as traffic, underground, buses and/or railways.

Tracks cannot be held responsible for any costs, incurred due to the late arrival or departure of the coach.

Those booked on our weekend and short break tours are required to have travel insurance to cover them throughout the tour.

We reserve the right to alter the itineraries as required. On the rare occasion when we have insufficient numbers we reserve the right to withdraw the tour. All clients will be notified in advance and offered an alternative tour or full refund.

Those travelling on tours outside the United Kingdom are required to travel with their passports and any necessary visa. The issue of a travel visa is the sole responsibility of the client.

Please note entrance fees are subject to change at any time and are a guide price only.

 

Complaints

Should you have a complaint during the tour, contact your tour manager and they will do their best to rectify your problem. If we cannot resolve your complaint at the time, you should make your complaint in writing and send it to us at Tracks Travel Limited, The Flots, Brookland, Romney Marsh, Kent, TN29 9TG, within 21 days of the end of the tour. We will be unable to deal with any complaints unless we receive details in writing in that time period.
