Destinations
Our itineraries cover southern & eastern Africa, with safaris as short as 3 days to 2-month long overland adventures to cater for all who would like to get a taste of real Africa. The variety of our trips is huge, giving you the opportunity to choose from superb game viewing in national parks, visiting seal colonies, raising your adrenaline by sky diving, sand boarding, diving or quad biking, cultural experiences or lazing on white powdery beaches. Accommodation
Our trips are camping trips, and we use large 2 person tents with sown in ground sheets and a separate fly sheet. Most of the time you will be staying at campsites. At times we will bush camp - if there is no permanent camp site near, we will pick a suitable place and pitch camp. A bush camp is something special to be remembered!
What's included
Fully equipped expedition truck/vehicle, all cooking and camping equipment, game park fees and excursions as detailed in the Trip Dossier.
What's not included
Sleeping bag and mat, personal insurance, visas, optional excursions and meals not included in the itinerary.
Local Payment
This payment forms part of the overall cost of the trip and covers in part the game park fees, camping fees and a number of excursions as well as the meals covered in the Trip Dossier.
Optional excursions
We include plenty of excursions in our itineraries but also offer activities that not everyone necessarily would want to partake in. You can decide and pay for these on route but please remember to budget for them prior to departure. You will find a list of optionals per trip with prices on the relevant trip pages.
Vaccinations
We want you to stay in good health for your Africa experience, therefore we strongly recommend that you seek advice from your local health authority and have vaccinations before you arrive to Africa. The requirements vary between countries and can change so it is important that you check with your local clinic or doctor.
Visas
Tracks do not get the visas for you - you need to obtain them yourself. In general, this is quite straightforward.
Crew
As with Tracks, Africa Travel Co has professionally trained Trip Leaders to make sure that you get a real insight into the local landscapes and cultures. You will also have an experienced Driver and "Safari Cook". And with 90% of the road crew and office staff employed from local communities, it means you get the people of Africa showing you their Africa.
Flights
All these tours are land only. Flights are not included.
